The Green Sash System auto Sash Closer for Fume Hoods is primarily designed for operation on Fume Hoods with VAV controls and has the following features and benefits :
- Can be fitted to NEW Fume Hoods or can be RETRO - FITTED to virtually all types of EXISTING Fume Hoods.
- Will FORCE the ENERGY COST SAVINGS on the end user by ensuring that the Sash is closed whenever the
operator is not present
- Can be fitted to EXISTING Fume Hoods with EXISTING VAV CONTROLS or can be supplied as a package with retro fitted ECON VAV CONTROLS fitted to the exhaust and air supply systems

Kitchens
Variable volume hoods reduce cost and increase equipment life.
For most kitchens, your exhaust hoods are in operation for 12 hours a day, 7 days a week. Considering most hoods maintain a constant average face velocity between 75 and 100 FPM (200 to 300 CFM per linear foot of hood), your cost to operate this hood could be well over $5,000.00 per year. Our VAV (Variable Air Volume) system detects both smoke and heat, increasing the exhaust volume when needed, reducing exhaust volumes when not needed. Most kitchens operate a small percentage of the day where maximum ventilation is required. Varying the speed of the fan(s) as cooking loads change will save you money by reducing ventilation and air conditioning needs.
